Preschool Enrichment

The Preschool Enrichment program is a two-year program that combines  fun sing-alongs and chants with an in-depth music theory program.

Year One (for ages 2.5-3.5 yrs):
An interactive program that features lively, high-energy songs, rhymes and chants. It incorporates the use of props such as egg shakers, rhythm sticks, parachutes and more. And also focuses on the development of fine/gross motor skills, social development, cooperative play, and recognition of simple numbers, words, colors and more.

Year Two (for ages 3.5-5 yrs):
In addition, to spirited sing-alongs and props, the second half of the program adds a graduated music education element that slowly introduces children to the rudiments of music and music theory. Introduced in a developmentally appropriate manner, concepts such as tempo, dynamics, note recognition, learning the musical staff, listening to and feeling music, rhythm reading and more are explored in class. The ability to read music and music notation is also emphasized, culminating in the reading of simple but fun music pieces at the end of the year.

Also integral to the pre-school classes is the introduction and exploration of instruments from around the world. Instruments from Bolivia to Madagascar are played and experimented with; along with a look into the history and cultures that gave birth to them.

Kids' Music SF is currently featured in several pre-schools in San Francisco.
